Abstract Information
The SAVIR online abstract submission form should be used to submit abstracts for consideration of presentation at the 2009 SAVIR Meeting in Atlanta. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on Friday, October 31, 2008 and will be strictly enforced.
The number of abstracts accepted for presentation is not pre-determined. Abstracts receive a blinded review by multiple reviewers. Abstracts are selected based on a numerical score and are grouped by topic, whenever possible. Authors are invited to submit original research on all aspects of injury prevention for oral or poster presentation.
Guidelines
- Abstracts are limited to 300 words. Abstracts in all categories must be organized in a structured format. There are four required topic headings: Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Optional headings are Background or Introduction. It is not necessary to begin a new line or leave extra space between topic headings.
- Only reports of original research may be submitted. Only abstracts submitted using the online abstract submission form will be considered.
- The abstract (or data or resultant paper) must not have been published in a peer-reviewed journal prior to the SAVIR Meeting.
- It is the authors' responsibility to submit abstracts free of typographical or other errors. Changes or corrections will not be accepted after the abstract deadline.
- Authors are invited to indicate if they would prefer oral or poster presentation; however, these requests for presentation cannot be guaranteed. Oral presentations are given 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers. Poster presentations are assigned to a designated poster session.
- If accepted for presentation, the presenting author must register to attend the SAVIR Meeting, and must remit the appropriate registration fee.
- We will be giving out a limited amount of awards for best presentations in different categories. In order to be eligible for an award, the presenting author must be the first author on the abstract.
- Abstract decision letters will be sent via e-mail to the corresponding authors by December 1st. A list of the accepted abstracts and schedule will be posted on this web site in January.
